Weight Training Workout - Designed To Build Strength And Body Mass
A weight-training workout is exactly what the name suggests: it is training with weights. But it could also mean training to maintain, increase or decrease one's weight. However, we will stick to the first explanation of the phrase 'weight training workout'. A weight training workout program is designed to build definition and strength. Any weight training program will increase weight but what one needs is clearly defined muscle and with it, some strength as well.
No weight training workout program is complete without the use of weights. These weights include free weights as well as some machine equipment that uses pulleys and weights combined.
One of the most common weight training workout equipments is the bench press. This is a bench that can be made horizontal or it can be inclined at different angles. The head of the bench press is a rack that holds the barbell containing the weights. This piece of equipment can be used to work out the shoulders, back, arms and the legs.
A perfect weight training workout regime will include sets of exercises that will alternately workout the shoulders, arms, back and neck one day and the stomach, legs and sides the next. There is a scientific reason for this. The more intense the exercise, the more rest the muscle groups need to have. So, the muscle groups that are being exercised one day are rested the next through a good weight-training workout.
Free weights are the best weight training equipment. Though some people do prefer the machines, we would like to go with the old-is-gold theory. Free weight equipment, such as dumbbells and barbells, allow for free movement and full movement that are very important for weight training. Sure, there is the possibility of dropping them on your feet but then you should be training with weights you are comfortable with and move up from there.
